By using TrueVault you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You can decline on the first screen; declining does not create a vault, does not request permissions and does not process any of your files.
You must be at least [MINIMUM USER AGE REQUIRED] to use TrueVault, and you must be able to enter a binding agreement under the law of [GOVERNING LAW REQUIRED]. [LEGAL REVIEW] — minimum age differs by market.
TrueVault is an Android application that encrypts files you select and stores them on your device. It provides:
TrueVault is not a cloud service, a backup service, a data-recovery service, or a guarantee that your files cannot be accessed by anyone else. There is no account and no server.
Your password or PIN protects your vault. You are responsible for choosing it, remembering it, and keeping it private.
[LEGAL REVIEW] The developer cannot reset your password, cannot recover your vault, and has no copy of your key. This is a design property, not a support limitation: there is nothing on any server to reset.
The recovery key is shown once during setup. It is the only route into your vault if you forget your password, and the only route on a different device.
If you lose your password and your recovery key, your data is permanently unrecoverable. Store the recovery key somewhere you will still have access to it in a year.

By using Secure Move you accept that:
Verify a moved file opens correctly in the vault before you rely on the original being gone.
TrueVault cannot find or remove copies of your files that it cannot access, including copies in other apps' storage, in messages, on cloud services, on other devices, or already sent to another person.
The Privacy Leak Scanner reports what it found in the locations you granted. A result of "nothing found" means nothing was found there. It is not a guarantee that no copy exists.

Availability of a privacy feature is not permission to break the law with it.
You keep all rights in the files you store. The developer claims no ownership, no licence and no right to use them — and, having no server and receiving no data, has no ability to do so.
TrueVault includes open-source libraries, each under its own licence (see Settings → Open-Source Licences). They run on your device and receive no data.
If you share a file with another app, or store a backup on a cloud service, that provider's terms and privacy policy apply to what you sent them. Those services are not covered by these Terms.
Updates may add, change or remove features. Some fix security issues; you are strongly encouraged to install them. An update may change the minimum Android version required.
An update never changes the vault format in a way that makes existing data unreadable without a documented, tested migration.
TrueVault requires Android [MINSDK — currently 8.0]. Some features depend on the device: biometric unlock needs enrolled biometrics; hardware-backed key storage needs the hardware; Private Space needs Android 15 or later plus a device that supports it. The app reports what your device can and cannot do rather than failing silently.
The app is not guaranteed to work on rooted, modified or emulated devices.
TrueVault applies strong encryption correctly, and it cannot do more than that. It cannot protect against a compromised or rooted device, malware with system access, someone who knows your password, physical coercion, or a weak PIN. No independent security audit of this app has been performed.
Encryption protects data at rest on the device. It does not make a device secure.
[LEGAL REVIEW] To the extent permitted by law, the developer does not guarantee that vault data can be recovered in any circumstance, including forgotten passwords, lost recovery keys, device failure, corrupted storage, failed backups or app defects.
[LEGAL REVIEW] To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for loss of data arising from your use of the app, including data lost through Secure Move, deletion, reset, uninstallation or device failure. Keep backups.
This clause does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for breaches of your statutory consumer rights.
You may stop at any time by deleting your vault data, resetting the app, or uninstalling it. Local data is removed; backups you exported and files you shared elsewhere are not affected.
The developer may stop distributing or updating TrueVault. Because the app works entirely on your device with no server, an installed copy keeps working. Export a backup if you want long-term assurance.
[LEGAL REVIEW] To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrueVault is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country. In many jurisdictions — including the EU, the UK, Australia and India — statutory guarantees cannot be disclaimed, and this clause does not attempt to.
[LEGAL REVIEW] To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer's total liability arising from your use of TrueVault is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law.
[LEGAL REVIEW] You agree to indemnify the developer against claims arising from your unlawful use of the app or your breach of section 11.
This clause is unenforceable against consumers in several jurisdictions and must be reviewed — or removed for consumer markets — before release.
These Terms are governed by the law of [GOVERNING LAW REQUIRED].
[LEGAL REVIEW] Consumer-protection law in your country of residence may apply regardless of this clause, and mandatory consumer rights are not displaced by it.
[LEGAL REVIEW] [DISPUTE RESOLUTION REQUIRED]. Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in your local courts where the law gives you that right, or from complaining to a consumer or data-protection authority.
Material changes get a new version, a new effective date, and a plain-language summary of what changed. You will be asked to review them in the app. Continuing to use TrueVault after that means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, you can export your data and stop using the app.
Typographical and formatting corrections do not require re-acceptance.
